A BIG Thank you and GIVEAWAY

Thursday, July 19, 2012

As the I approach the year mark of making the move to France I thought it would be a great time to thank all of my friends, family and readers of this little blog. James and I joke that the only ones reading the blog are my BFFs, Mom, and him! If so that is perfectly fine with me as the blog is mainly for me to stay connected to those on the other side of the pond and share my thoughts, feelings and experiences of being an expat here in France.

Thank you to everyone who has given your love and support. It has made this last year a little bit easier. I know that this move has not been easy, for me, my family and friends, but also for James. As I try to build a life in France and find my path he has had to shoulder a lot of my worries, fears, and tears. I know that it isn't easy for him to see me at times struggling to navigate this path and be so far from the rest of my family and friends. Prior to the move I had a lot of ideas of what life would be like for me here, some of the things I am experiencing I had envisioned and many things I had not. I have spoke to some other expats that are colleagues of mine and they reassure me that I am exactly where they were at this point of the journey. I know that there are going to continue to be ups and downs and I hope you will all continue to walk the path with me.

As a small token of my love and appreciation for all of you I would like to offer a giveaway. Below are the two options I have come up with.

A fun plate to serve cheese or desserts on with a bottle of one of my favorite wines!

For the coffee lovers here is a Starbucks mug and some amazing chocolate that James helped me discover!
  • PRIZE: One of the 2 fabulous combos above
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post and tell me...
Is anything else you would like to know about life in France, if so what?
            OR
Say something to me in French (and hopefully I can figure out what you said)
  • BONUS ENTRY OPTION:  Become a follower of "Life in France"
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Tuesday July 24th 12p.m. France timezone
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States or France (although in the future I may try to come up with an international giveaway but at this point I don't think anyone is reading the blog outside of the states...if I am wrong let me know)
  • OTHER STUFF: One entry per person is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Tuesday evening.  So check back then to see if you won! I will be bringing the loot with me across the pond.  The first number picked will get to choose which of the 2 options they would like. If you are a local (in MN) I can hand deliver the goods and if you are not I will mail it to you (of course if it is via the mail I am not permitted to ship wine so you will be getting the Starbucks and Chocolate). Good luck...

I love reading your blogs. I give you so much credit for leaving everything you love and know to restart. To me it's a true fairy tale you are living. I share some of your blogs with my family. I started working with some of your old co-workers and we always talk about what a strong woman you are. Keep your head up high it will all work out for the best and sounds like James is doing good being there for. I hope you get everything done when your home. Stay strong you have lots of people standing behind you. Katie Osman Wiskow

  2. Lynn...only you would come up with something as fun as a giveaway! I treasure reading your posts and get excited every time I see a new entry.

What has been an unexpected blessing related to life in France?

What has taken the most getting used to?

What would you have be the same in France as in the US if possible? And maybe to make it extra hard let's say excluding friends, family, and a dryer! :)

  4. Hi - well, I'm not your family and I guess I'm not technically your friend except that I sort of know you from reading your blog! As a blogger moi-meme I love to read other blogs - and I think yours is just great. I don't suppose you'd consider doing a guest blog feature for us at www.thegoodlifefrance.com? With best wishes, Janine at The Good Life France

  7. Lynn!! You are so fun for doing something like this, you creative girl!! CANT WAIT to see you soon when you are home!

I have so many questions, where to begin!?

If you had to pick one day that was the most memorable since you first arrived in France, what was it? what did you do? (keep it PG, lol)

Has your choice in wine changed?

What meal do you miss the most from the states?

What's been your most embarrassing moment so far in France, haha?

What is the biggest difference in our culture compared to the French?

HOW are you staying so cute and thin with allllll them bakery's around?! ;)

Il a été aussi amusant de me joindre à vous pour ce voyage et Iam, reconnaissants de ne pas avoir une partie de elle. L'une des plus belles personnes que je connais à l'intérieur comme à l'extérieur !!
